Tickets at August Wilson Theatre
The August Wilson Theatre was built in 1925 by the Theatre Guild to house its own productions under the name Guild Theatre. It was extensively renovated in the 1950s and renamed The ANTA. In 1981 it was renamed The Virginia in honor of Virginia M. Biger, who co-owned Jujamcyn Theaters.
In 2005 it took its current name after the playwright August Wilson. It was the first time that a Broadway theater had been named after an African-American.

Story for Cabaret
Willkommen. Bienvenue. Welcome to the Kit Kat Club. Home to the smash-hit production of CABARET that Entertainment Weekly hails as “an unforgettable and jaw-dropping experience,” and New York Magazine declares “a glitzy, entertaining and ingenious revival that goes all out.”
Experience this groundbreaking musical like never before. The denizens of the Kit Kat Club have created a decadent sanctuary inside Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre, where artists and performers, misfits and outsiders rule the night. Step inside their world. This is Berlin. Relax. Loosen up. Be yourself.
From July 22 to October 19, 2025, see Tony®, Emmy & GRAMMY® winner Billy Porter and two-time Olivier Award nominee Marisha Wallace star as Emcee and Sally Bowles on Broadway.
CABARET has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff—based on the play by John van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
Know Before You Go to Cabaret
Cabaret has announced planned absences for current stars Billy Porter and Marisha Wallace, who will play the roles of Emcee and Sally Bowles, respectively, through Sunday, March 29, 2025.
